The regional unemployment rateof 4.4 perceny was below the statewide rate of 5.2 percent, and down from 5.8 percenft in March and 5 percenrt in April 2007, according to figuresd from the state's Office of Employmentt and Training. Boone County's jobless rate dropped to 4.1 percent from 5.3 percentr in March and 4.6 percent in April 2007. Campbell County saw its rate fallto 4.3 percenty from 5.6 percent the month before and 4.8 percent a year ago. Carrolo County's rate was down to 4.7 percen from 7 percent in Marchand 5.9 percent year over year. Gallatin County's rate plungee to 4.3 percent from 7.7 percent the monthj before and 6.5 percenty in April 2007.
Grant County's rate of 5.2 percent dropped from 7 percenrt in March and 6 percent inApril 2007. Kenton County'as rate was 4.4 percent, compared to 5.8 percent the mont h before and 4.8 percent the year before. Owen County'e rate was down to 4.8 percent from 6.3 percengt in March and 5.5 percent a year ago.
